Gerald & Reba DeBari, of Pensacola, Florida are the proud owners of "Old Grey". When they bought her in 1998, she was in fair shape for her age but since then the addition of new main bearing seals, motor mounts, clutch, new carburetor and automatic choke, new brake system, interior, and of course the points/plugs/plug wires have brought her up to peak performance. She is original except for the color (she was originally Palm Beige), a modern radio/CD player, the wheel covers are from a 1972 Plymouth, and 5 Coker Classic 2 3/8" wide whitewalls, size 205/75R15. Since she still has the 6-Volt positive ground electrical system, they had to buy a converter to take 6-Volt positive ground and produce 12-Volt negative ground for the radio. She still has the old vacuum powered windshield wipers, oil bath air cleaner and 97 horse power in line flat head 6 cylinder engine. And, YES! the wipers do stop working when the engine is in a strain, like going up a steep hill.

Gerald found "Old Grey" back in 1998, looking like she could use a new home and some tender loving care. He brought her home to Reba and told her that he had traded Reba's new Volvo for her. Reba saw through his humor and asked if he had really bought the Plymouth. When he said "No", she said "Go back and buy her." When the boss says to do something, what can one do except obey? What an understanding wife!
