Juneau's Collection

Jeff Juneau and his son Ed of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA share these photos with us. Not satisfied with just one great car, Jeff has a whole slew of other Mopars. Lucky Guys!! Ed, a true "chip off the old block", has a '46 Dodge pickup and has a P15 that he is restoring.

These form a rather unique collection that deserves to be displayed together.

Jeff Juneau's 51 convertible just before the commencement of restoration. If you are discouraged with the amount of rust in your "project" car, just take a look at the rocker panels on this one. "You've come a long way baby" - from the above photo to the 1st Prize winner at the right.

Here's a photo of Jeff's convertible, same as the one to the left, after restoration. It's amazing what a lot of work and more than a few dollars can do, isn't it. He has owned this car since 1966. Good Work Jeff!

This red P20 Club coupe was once a street rod in California before ending up in a junk yard. It somehow found its way to Minnesota. A virtually rust-free car, Ed says this one will be the 2005 project car.

This beautiful '50 P20 4dr sedan is one of Jeff Juneau's many drop-dead gorgeous Plymouths.

The 4 photos above show various phases of Ed's car before it was put away for the winter (2004-5). The red color on the edges is "Cruiser Maroon", the final color someday. Another California car hauled to Minnesota, this is also virtually rust free.

At the lower left is a photo of this car taken after the rebuilt engine was installed. The engine compartment, suspension & firewall were also painted by this time - just exterior work from now on.
The red Dodge pickup shown above is Ed's. When he got it for his 21st birthday present, the prior owner had disassembled it. Ed got a rolling chassis and cab, plus enough parts to fill 4 pickups.

Above - Right - This interior photo was taken just minutes before Ed drove the truck for the first time. Who waits for such things as doors and seats? Milk crates serve just as well for the first few rides.

What Mopar collection would be complete without a work truck? This truck sports a brush painted coat of John Deere yellow tractor paint and is used for hauling firewood and all sorts of other jobs at Jeff's cabin.

Jeff is the second owner of this 1954 Savoy. Originally saved from a crusher for $50 as a parts car for somebody else's 53 Plymouth. They gave up on the 53 so the 54 got some engine work and is now a great driving car. Ed drove this car to work for a while before getting his first "modern" car.

Jeff's 63 Valiant is yet another car rescued from the junk yard (with a bad motor). A rebuilt slant-6 was added for $40 but it just about drove Jeff nuts until Ed discovered that it had a Hi-Po cam in it. then everything got better.

Ed's Dodge at a Wednesday night car show. No sense having them if you don't show them off. Right?

Ed behind the wheel of Jeff's 1940 Plymouth pickup. Shortly after this picture was taken, Jeff discovered the frame was a mess - a giant beam supporting one side and a huge crack on the other side. After dismantling it and replacing the frame, the body was painted Rio Maroon, a 50 stock color.

Here's a progress photo of Jeff's truck as it looked in June, 2005. It's coming along nicely.
The photo above shows a group of old Plymouths on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi during a Plymouth Club Tour. Besides Jeff's convertible, there is another P23 convertible and Jeff's Dodge truck. Ed says he had a ball driving this truck 185 miles that afternoon. Jeff's convertible took "Best of Show - 1940-1959" at an associated Plymouth Owners Club show.
