Hello friends! Glad you found this page.
On this page, we will post some info on how things are going in the Ward family and some other boring stuff. Kind of like the letters you get at Christmas from old friends, telling you what has been going on in their lives. Hope it isn't too boring.

2/7/05 - Probably the biggest thing to happen in the past year was the addition to our house. Rick & Bill (plus more friends than they knew they had) have worked on it EVERY DAY (except Sundays) since July 5, 2005. It started out to be a big deck over a storage room. It has morphed into a new master bedroom, porch, old bedroom remodel and bathroom extension over a workshop - and it still keeps telling us to do more. The bathroom extension space is framed in but won't be done until after cruising season ends (October). It has been a lot of fun but exhausting work.

This is pretty much what it looked like before we put in some flowers on the balcony and hung flower baskets from the eaves. That little balcony on the left has a tile floor and is the place for Betty's flowers that she tends - tough for her to get down the stairs into the yard so the lower flowers (when a flowerbed gets finished) will be Bill's.

This shows the addition from the other side. Note the flower baskets and how close the pine tree is to the wall. Betty looks out her window and it is just like being in the forest.

The view from Betty's window in the winter. We love it! Hard to imagine that this is not out in the forest - just a standard subdivision lot. We planted all these trees some 30 years ago.

Another view showing flower baskets. Next year I will put in a drip watering system to help the flowers through our 100 degree days. Watering them twice a day when it is hot becomes quite a chore but it really adds to our pleasure to have them up close to Betty.

Bill's new wood shop before the workbenches, pegboard, shelves and lights were installed. "My own little private sanctuary - at last!!!"

Here's what the old joint looks like after we added new arches and posts to the porch and then added some stucco. A new entry door helped a bit too.
