DescriptionBill and Betty Ward's 'Lucy II' at the end of a benefit car show, held September 29, 2001 for the benefit of the New York Firefighters and Police. This small show (only about 150 cars), sponsored by the Draper, Utah Fire Department featured a memorial service, fire apparatus from 7 cities, a pipe band, an auction and a raffle. All together, over $58,000 was raised at this show. In two of the photos, what is that thing hanging on the door? A lot of people have never seen one before. It is a lot of fun to sit quietly at a car show and listen to the guesses. No, it isn't a mailbox. It isn't a vacuum cleaner. (I have been known to tell boys in the 7-12 age range that it is a rocket launcher before 'fessing up to what it really is.) It probably isn't something you would recognize unless you live (or have lived) in the southwestern part of the country. It is an evaporative cooler for the interior of the car.
