    I got your comments and I will try them for sure as soon Plymouth will go to garage to adjustments. I have a broke vacuum wiper and no heater fan, so 12 volts wiper will be fine. Any comments about 6-volt gas tank float? ,,,,how to proceed.?.....regards....

    By the way you conected to 12 volts ammeter and fuel gauge too? Both are 6 volts in my car and I keep disconected.

    I will think a way to use 6 volts choke based on resister following your comments, i will try to keep Plymouth the most original possible, for sure Plymouth need choke, i have others old cars 6 cilinders and basically americam cars (Willys and Chevrolet) and all of them need choke, climate is good but gasoline is poor in octanage and 25% of ethanol is added..................Regards

    I do agree with you considering pooring gas into carburetor, it is not safe, unfortunatelly it is necessary sometimes mainly in beginning of re-building process, Please allow me to understand principles of resister for the coil wire to step down from 12 to 6 volts, I discussed a possible resister with a friend here (eletyrical especialist) he thinks it is not possible due charge in the choke in a continuous way, not only at engine start or in conection with ignition. We didnt use in order to preserve electrical choke. If resister is a feasible process we can use it to ammeter and fuel gauge too?.It s possible to send a phloto and where a can buy?Thanks about your information is helping a lotand forsure it was great join the group. Photo from today at Walmart in Sao Paulo, Plymouth was great after one week I started engine after 5 seconds just holding choke and right after imediatelly.

    Thanks to your recomendation, I have the carburetor and eletrical choke 6 volts.(turn off).....so I will find a cable and I will fixe the manual choke.......but please explain me why not a gasoline injection at carburetor ...fire risk? or other technical reazon?Regards......

    Thanks Brian .....I will read manual in detail for now on......my manual is original from the fifties so graphics are clear enough so I will check details...I rebuilt the car and gear box and transmission/differential was checked and they seen in good shape, really Plymouth needs some small adjustments on the gear shift and manual will help......Things are hot in Brazil, a lot of political problens but weather is still good and girls are beautiful and from time to time a good running on Plymouth......regards

    I have this manual ...... ...I read it but i didnt see or I missed explanations considering my specific problem so shall you give me specific manual do get details about "first gear jumping" , Please take in count I am in Brazil and not too many reference or others original Plymouths too see, Please see pictures attached in order to realize how bad car was.......................thanks

    Thanks for the answer.....it is useful to start my way to full solution I am tired to start on second and Plymouth engine too, mainly on climbs.....maybe shift linkage is the problem, I do believe problem is out of gear box or transmission but frankly speaking the conections/arms between the shift and gear box are still a right position mystery to me due my lack of reference....so it is extremelly useful if you can email me parts/draws/details of manual where you got such explanations .......If I see figures or schemes I can reforce my understanding due my poor technical english and please tell me what manual you got it. Thanks again and my best regards........

    I switched the electrical system from 6 volts to 12 volts .... the electric choke being 6 volts can not be used as we know ...... I need a choke ..... what is the best solution: a manual choke? or have a container with gasoline and fill the carburetor at engine start?

    I just enter in OldPlymouths Group and let me ask a question : When I hit the first gear, I do not have any problems with the clutch, but I have to quickly go through the second ..... because the first gear jumps ,,,, there is no noise in the gearbox ............ who had this problem? ....any tip to correct?
